My side of student debt has been devoured! All that remains is a 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee as the seasoned tenderloin on my plate. I’ll finish that final portion off in April but keeping kosher afterwards isn’ t the plan. Instead, I’ll be preparing for future p urchases well in advance of the co urses cr ossing my counter.

I mentioned earlier this year that I was prepping for a 2010-2012 Cadillac CTS Sport Wagon (V6). I’ll be ready to purchase the Caddy Wagon a nytime after Februa ry and have it paid off in September.

Kinja'd!!!

Let me mention that I’m not debt a verse. In regards to finances, I realized that I wanted better handling and control which I’m sure everyone here can understand. I’m still working out the changes in my attitudes and practices when it comes to debt as well as many other aspects of finances .   I need to live and practice these changes for a while longer and discover what is constant versus consistent before I do a write up.

HOWEVER... I still have every intention on building a garage, fleet,   h arem of cars that are better than factory when it comes to cleanliness, responsiveness, and smoothliness. I aalso still plan to buy up used Maseratis the same way you all buy up Toyotas and BMWs. Darnit! I may very well break down and buy a Granturismo next October! B etter myself before the car, that's what I always say just now.

Congrats on the student loan payoff!

But in the future, I’m not sure that buying used Maseratis will keep you in control of your finances, eh?

Not to be nosy, but I am really curious as to how you manage to have space for all your vehicles--as far as I can recall you now have the GC, the Amanti, and a Jag, correct? With the CTS that makes four, and so on... I only inquire because I would love to have a similar fleet of interestingly ordinary vehicles sometime in the future and am just wondering how the logistics work out!

Hey, that’s what everyone said about an old Kia... and a Grand Cherokee ... and a Jaguar ... it’s good to push towards the limits of handling in order to have a better understanding of what they really are and what needs to be fixed fundamentally.

Ha good point - a Maserati would be fun when it’s running, though a lot of their cars look kinda bloated to me, personally.

At which point a serious visitation to idea of performing a large lift and fitting truck wheels will occur?

The Amanti has a reserved, covered parking space at my apartment complex.

The Grand Cherokee spends most of the month parked at the airport since I’m only in New Mexico for my days off from work, but has the spot beside the Amanti when I’m home.

My mom keeps the XF in her garage. My deal was that I’d buy the car and she would store it and drive it on the weekends to church and events. Yes, there have been issues, but sharing the car was the deciding reason for an XF instead of an XJ and wwe both enjoy this setup.

The Cadillac would just be parked at the apartment complex by the Amanti where the Jeep usual goes.

If I do get a Maserati (or F-Type V8 S Convertible, which is more likely since that is a car that can sit better ) , I would just park the XF at my complex and do the same situation with my mom.

Wow that’s a lot of cars to have loaded up at an apartment complex.

I’m a big fan of these, but I guess I’ve never seen them in black. It looks like a hearse.

There is an amazing amount of parking here, over 3 times the amount of apartments. Plus, t he complex is beside the fire station and police station with the bus terminal just past them (which a good chunk of residents commute on).

Blasphemy, this has forest service road to isolated picnic spot written all over it now that the inner city folk have devised a means to safely perform the required changes.

I loved my 2010 CTS wagon!  I had the 3.0L which was a little gutless down low but loved to rev!  My brother had a 3.6 sedan which was a rocket.  Handled great with a supple ride,  and I loved that interior (mine was just like your pic).  The only reason we got rid of it was the arrival of kid #3 (couldn’t fit 3 car seats) - so traded it for a 1st gen CTS wagon (2009 SRX).

If you want to drive them, buying a fleet of used Maseratis will be the  way to make sure you consistently have one available .
